As we are in week 9 I can talk and share what I did for Week 8 at Nini’s Weekly Creative Boost Project.
We had a really lovely bright colored image to work with. I printed it out on the “usual” watercolor paper but wasn’t 100% sure what to work with as in, will it be a digital play or a real tangible art supplies play? As I was observing the image I spotted an eye - they do keep coming up lately - and I knew I had to go in with real colored pencils. I also saw the trees and a house in the middle of the image so I was happy to get started.
It took me about 2 hours to get to the point I did. I could have kept going but I was actually tired and also, under a wee bit of stress due to also filming the whole thing. I really want to share this project with more people so I decided to film the “making of” a few of these to share on my YT channel. This is now the first one being published and you can watch it right here. I shortened it to mere 3+ minutes :)
I really liked working with these beautiful colors and I love what I “saw”. The eye still amazes me as it was really faint on the print out but totally there once noticed. I don’t think I can do something completely different the second time, as in, if I was to print it out again and notice something else. Because I believe I’d just see what I drew already. But I do have to try it out just to be sure! But maybe have some time pass by so that I forget what I did the first time :)
I’ve also been doing a little “drawing per day” in my small Sakura sketchbook. For the past few days I was asking my FB friends for prompts just to make it more fun and also, because I was tagged to post my art for 10 days. The original post was about posting 10 days in a row without any explanations but I’ve done that before and frankly, don’t really like posting without a comment. So I made my own rules and this is what’s been going on.
I’m also itching to finish up a needle felted project I started last year. It’s a 3D one which was inspired by an image I received long ago and is still in my mind - yes, yet another thing to put down on paper. So many ideas and so little time :) You here too?
I’ll leave you with this and wish you a lovely and magical weekend. May it be bright and creative too.
With much love,
♥
