Sketchbook Sightings
from 17th - 24th of August
The Sketchpack saga continues and it has been considerably more fun to do, these last 8 days, because I was joined by 1,5 people who decided to give this “technique” a go! :) Why 1,5? Because one managed to do all 8 pages and the other one just a few BUT wowza were ALL of them cool! I’ll ask them if I can share some pages here and I’ll do it next week when I publish my last post for this series.
Now let’s see what was going on in my book. This was my starting point for days 17 and 18:
and I saw this:
Quite busy with lots going on. One really could start telling stories based on these characters and things that show up. Totally a great hack for days when writers or illustrators feel stuck.
Empty pages for days 19 and 20 looked like this …
… and I managed to see these interesting creatures:
Day 20 proved more difficult as there was not much difference in marks on the page and I did it over two days as Saturday was really quite busy for me. I am glad I managed anyways.
Days 21 and 22 looked like this before I got my hands on them:
I still recall day 22 because I got upset and really really sad about something I read and it reflected on my page. I couldn’t really enjoy drawing it but it did make me feel so much better once I was done. Art truly IS therapy and I wish it was easier to start when we don’t really feel like doing it.
Days 23 and 24 offered this:
which translated into this:
Day 23 wanted some colors added and I happily obliged. I always liked using simple colored pencils, one can do so much with them. And I do love colors and colorful things even if I don’t use them all the time. I guess everything always comes down to balance :)
And here’s the part when I write …
Come Join Me
There’s only 7 days left till the end of August and why not give this fun technique a go? Will you? Here are the remaining pages for you to download and print out:
I hope you join me and that you find many hidden treasures on these pages.
Please leave me a comment here as this helps me getting my writings to a wider audience and I would really like to inspire more people to get creative. If you could share this post too, for exactly the same reasons, I will be very grateful to you.
Wishing you a very creative and magical time till my next post. Have fun! :)
With much love,
♥
